Known for making household names of British artists like Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin, influential collector Charles Saatchi has turned his sights on contemporary Chinese art for the much anticipated reopening of his namesake gallery in London.
The Revolution Continues: New Art From China features painting, sculpture and installations from about 30 of China's leading contemporary artists, including Yue Minjun, Zhang Xiaogang and Zeng Fanzhi.
"The gallery's guiding principle is to show what is being made now, the most interesting artists of today," said Rebecca Wilson, head of development for the Saatchi Gallery.
"It's about drawing people's attentions to someone who might be tomorrow's Damien Hirst."
Saatchi's gallery was forced out of its last venue after a dispute with the landlord three years ago.
